$2450 to buy seeds, fertilizer, and herbicides for agriculture.
This group of 12 women was created in August 2019. They live in the same village and are united by ties of kinship and friendship. They have good social relations. They are all farmers. This group is on its fourth loan.
Kadiatou, 25 years old, is the group representative. She is standing at the far right in the photo with her hand raised. She is married and mother of three children, including one girl. She cultivates maize, peanuts, and cotton like most women in the village. With this loan she intends to purchase agricultural materials to cultivate a large area and seeds.
After the harvest, she will sell her production at the local market at a good price, hoping to obtain a better income. The profits from this loan will be used to support family expenses and the children's education and health, as well as the small retail business.
