Leonila, Teresita, Angelyn, Marites from Philippines

$375 to buy slippers, toys and mobile phone accessories as demanded by her customers.

Marites is 46 years old, married and has two children who are both studying.

Her husband works as a technician. She helps her husband by selling different merchandise in front of their home. These include toys, batteries, chargers, accessories and various items. The income she derives from her business helps her family in meeting some of their expenses. However, as her capital merely rolls over, Marites is not able to grow her business even if she would want to or has the skills to do so.

She recently joined a group the SEED Center Philippines, Inc. helped organize in her area. Through this group, Marites was able to attend free training on business development and financial literacy. With the holiday season, she sees the opportunity to grow her business by selling newer and in-demand items in her store. She is requesting a loan to buy slippers, toys and mobile phone accessories as demanded by her customers. Part of her loan will be shared also with her group members.
