Kevin from Mozambique

$11750 to acquire new technology to foster his production of maize seeds.

Kevin is a 52-year-old entrepreneur who has been living in Manica province for over 20 years.

He's a very experienced farmer, producing a variety of crops such as maize, sorghum, sesame, garlic, onions, Irish potatoes, carrots and tomatoes. Kevin has a good source of water near his farm which helps him to have a high yield in every harvest.

Thanks to his business, dozens of local youth can have employment as well as a regular income to address their needs. Additionally, local smaller farmers can acquire certified cereal seeds at a very competitive price, which reduces their production costs.

Considering the price fluctuations in the nearby countries, the price of seeds tends to increase often, which impacts negatively on Kevin's cereal production and sales as well. In order to overcome this effect, Kevin needs to invest in his own seed production. This is the reason that he's requesting a Kiva loan to acquire new technology to foster his production of maize seeds.
