Constance from Uganda
$800 to purchase more sacks of sugar, salt and maize flour.
Constance is 36 years old and lives in the town of Kalerwe in the Kawempe region of Uganda. She is married and has three children who are all currently in school. For the past two years, Constance has been working hard to manage her retail shop, which sells general merchandise items like sugar, salt, cooking oil and water.
To help expand her business, Constance has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more sacks of sugar, salt and maize flour for sale, and will help Constance to generate greater profits and manage to provide enough food for her family. Constance hopes that in the future she will be able to build commercial houses.
Constance is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members like Constance who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
