Sukanti from India

$325 to expand her rice business by purchasing wholesale and selling it in the local market.

Sukanti, age 34, hails from a middle-class family from the Khurda district of Odisha. She is married and lives with her husband and two children.

She runs her own rice business and wishes to expand this by investing in it. Her current income is very low and earns only Rs. 2,000. She, therefore, lacks the capital required to begin the business.

She has applied for a loan amount of Rs. 20,000 with Mahashakti Foundation(Milaap’s field partner), who provides loan support and training to rural women who wishes to expand their enterprise. She can purchase rice from the wholesale market and sell in the local market. This would enable her to improve her living standards and educate her children.

Sukanti and her family members are most thankful to Milaap and its partner who would help her with this enterprise development, which would ensure them a secure future.
